Kyra Cathcart poured in 29 points, and Dana Jimenez scored the other 16 for the Lady Bulldogs, but Ft. Cobb-Broxton pulled away in the fourth, 54-45.

“Some of our players didn’t shoot real well tonight,” Lady Bulldogs coach Ray Kennedy said. “And to play a team that close that is that good when you don’t have a good shooting night, I thought we did alright.”

Hooker was more than alright in the second quarter. After falling behind 13-10 in the first, Hooker rallied to knot the game at 26 by halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs were outscored 18-15 in the third, and trailed 44-41 heading into the fourth.

Jiminez scored all 16 of her points on four 3-pointers, but could not match the ten that Ft. Cobb-Broxton hit.

“When Dana went out to the perimeter they didn’t guard her, and she was able to knock down some shots,” Kennedy said. “They played much of the game with four guards in at the same time. It was hard for our post players to move out and guard them out there, and they knocked them down.”

Hooker (9-3) will face Sayre for third place.

The Hooker boys advanced to the championship game with a 41-40 win over No.7 Ft. Cobb-Broxton.

Hooker trailed for most of the game by single digits, but rallied late to take the lead.

“We played good defense at the end and knocked down some free throws,” Bulldogs coach Chad Hussey said. “Once we got the lead we never relinquished it.”

Hooker will face a Chattanooga, a team that shocked tournament favorite, defending state champion, and second-ranked Cheyenne, 50-44 in their semifinal matchup.
