FOWLER – Dorothy M. Seyfert, 89, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the Fowler Residential Care Center, Fowler.
She was born April 24, 1923, to Dick and Ida (Zellmer) Wurdeman in Denver.
She married Elmer Seyfert Aug. 28, 1949, in Meade. He died March 25, 1998.
She graduated from Meade High School in 1941, and later received her teaching certificate from Dodge City Community College.
She taught in a one room school house south of Meade. She also farmed with her husband south of Fowler.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a son, Warren Seyfert and wife, Peggy; a daughter, Audrey Seyfert; a granddaughter, Renee Herbert, and husband, Keith; two grandsons, Ryan and Michael Seyfert; a sister-in-law, Loretta Wurdeman; five nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond and Arnold Seyfert; and a sister, Lily Seyfert.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, Meade, with the Rev. Lynn E. Spencer presiding.
Burial will follow at the Fowler Cemetery.
Friends may call until 7 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church, Fowler Residential Care Center, or the Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
