HUGOTON – Josepha Albert “Joe A.” Stuart, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at his home in Hugoton.
He was born Jan. 22, 1923, to William Joseph “Joe” and Martha “Myrtle” (Thompson) Stuart in Morton County.
He married Edythe Reynolds March 18, 1943, in Elkhart. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for the City of Hugoton as an operator before retiring.
He enjoyed being with his family.
Other survivors include three daughters, Patty Clinkingsbeard, Perryton, Texas, Peggy Doar and husband, Marion, Charleston, S.C., and Penny Cissell and husband, Bill, Elberfield, Ind.; one brother, Ralph Stuart, Renton, Wash.; one sister, Mary Beth Matyas, Hannibal, Mo.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Delbert Stuart, two sisters, Ida Landrum and Katie Youngren, and one son-in-law, Dan Clinkingbeard.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Hugoton with the Rev. Harry Cross presiding.
Military graveside services will be at the Hugoton Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Paul’s Funeral Home.
