Grace Helen Hibbs, 94, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She born July 23, 1915, to Alfred Madison and Ella Frances (Scobee) Pirtle in Cederdale, Okla.
She married Oliver Pearl Hibbs March 31, 1934, in Guymon, Okla. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Turpin High School in 1934. She then attended Business College in Lakewood, Colo.
She worked as a secretary for the General Service Administration at the Denver Federal Center for over 20 years.
She was a member of the Turpin United Methodist Church and Lakewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Roger A. Hibbs and finance, Caen Bly, Cut Bank, Mont.; one daughter, Janice Smith, Southern Pines, N.C.; one sister, Gladys Cook, Strasburg, Colo.; six grandchildren, Wayne Hibbs, Rodney Hibbs, Robert Hibbs, Shelli Moore, Todd Strickland and Travis Strickland; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Steve Strickland, Turpin.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jimmie Dale Hibbs, one daughter, Annice Strickland, two brothers, Fred and Ross Pirtle, two sisters, Cecile Ruhland and Hazel Henness, and one granddaughter, Larice Johnson.
o Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Turpin United Methodist Church with Pastor Todd Bergman presiding.
Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
