Obituary

HUGOTON – George A. Sims, 91, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Feb. 15, 1921, to  John  Edward and Lola Lowe Sims in Dodge City.

He married Gladys Guyer June 24, 1944, in Hugoton. She survives.

He was a lobbyist for Exxon Mobil.  He was U.S.  Army Air Force.

He was a member of United Methodist Church, Hugoton.

Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Snead, Oxford, and Janine Beltz and husband, Dale, Hugoton; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Carl Jay Sims; two brothers, Edward and Mike Sims; and five sisters, Velma, Pauline, Edna, Meryl and Beryl.

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Hugoton, with the Rev. Harry Cross presiding.

Burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Paul’s Funeral Home of Hugoton.

Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church and Youthville of Dodge City and may be mailed to Paul’s Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
