Wayne George Berry, 85, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at his home in Shawnee, Okla.
He was born Dec. 29, 1926, to Wilson and Bessie (Isabel) Berry in Franklin, Texas.
He married Janet Kay (Platz) July 14, 1962, in Clayton, N.M. She preceded him in death.
He served in the United States Army during World War II in Japan. He owned and operated K&K Oil Company in Liberal.
He enjoyed watching baseball, western movies, going to church, reading his Bible and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by four daughters, Glenda McKeand and husband, Dennis, Swanton, Ohio, Brenda Brachias, Grand Junction, Colo., Karla Berry, Yukon, Okla., Krista Rickner and husband, Steve, Chandler, Okla.; five brothers, Bud Berry and Wayne’s twin, Wayde Berry, of the home, Roy Berry, Scott City, Red Berry, Canton, Okla., and Gerrell Berry, Dacoma, Okla.; two sisters, Emily Twyford, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Virginia King, Altus, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, Nathan, KrisCinda, Charity, Cobie, LeeAnn, Sarah, Joshua, Miranda, Hana and Britany; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Linda Schleman, Scott City; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Danna Berry, four brothers and two sisters.
o Funeral service was at 2 p.m. today at Praise Assembly of God with the Rev. Kevin Jennings presiding.
Burial was at Tecumseh Cemetery.
