JOHNSON – Anna Mae Lewis, 87, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson.
She was born Aug. 12, 1925, to Felix R. and Maude J. (Reynolds) Edmisson in Englewood.
She married John C. Lewis March 15, 1946, in Syracuse. He survives.
She graduated from Johnson High School and attended Southwestern College and Emporia State College.
She became a farm wife.
She was a supporter of the Stanton County Library and Hamilton County Library and served as a board member for 30 years. She was also a member of the Syracuse Book Club, Daisy Chain Club, PEO, Cosmos Club, First United Methodist Church in Johnson, United Methodist Women and served on the First National Bank in Liberal and Kansas Bank Corporation boards.
Other survivors include her son, James R. Lewis and wife, Janie, Winfield; daughters, Sue Dowd and Peggy Stiles, both of Johnson; sisters, Mona Winger and husband, Melvin, Johnson, and Felicia Wheeler and husband, Cal, Wichita; and four grandchildren, Kate Morrison and husband, John, Molly Siegler and husband, Noah, Sarah Stiles, and Emily Olafsen and husband, Nate.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister and brother-in-law, Iris and Galen Lane.
o Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson, with the Rev. Don Hasty and Pastor John Teeter presiding.
Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson.
There will be no calling hours.
