MANTER – George Salazar, 53, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at his home in Manter.
He was born March 13, 1959, to Eduvijez (Vickie) Sanchez Griego in Hereford, Texas.
He married Karleen Prickett June 24, 2005, in Newton. She survives.
He was a graduate of Johnson High School in 1978.
He was a corporal in the United States Army Infantry serving in Germany. He was a machinist by trade.
He is also survived by his son, Coltan Jessie Salazar, Zachary, La.; one daughter, Calli Rae Salazar Schneider, Abilene; one stepson, Aaron Anderson, McPerson; three stepdaughters, Amber Rodriguez, Ardmore, Okla., Rachel Anderson, McPherson, and Lyndsey Anderson, Overland Park; six grandchildren, Paisley Jo Salazar, Owen Anderson, Leila Carrothers, Cora Carrothers, Ethan Anderson-Alexander and Nicholas Alexander; three aunts; three uncles and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Jessie Griego; and his grandparents, Earnesto and Beatriz Sanchez.
o Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Manter, with Pastor Will Kenyon presiding.
Private burial will take place at a later date.
Friends may call 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
