Jeffrey Gordon McAfee, 60, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in Cox South Hospital after a seven week battle with cancer.
He was born on June 8, 1952, to Dr. Robert Gordon and Alfreda Kathleen Sisk McAfee in Memphis, Tenn.
He graduated from high school in Garden City in 1971. After graduation, he entered military service in the United States Army and served in Vietnam.
He was a volunteer and supporter of Center City Christian Outreach and the Well of Life Food Pantry.
He was an outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his parentshis parents, Gordon McAfee and wife, Marilyn Vinson McAfee, Springfield, Mo., and Alfreda McAfee, Johnson City, Tenn.; son, Jason G. McAfee and wife, Elisabeth, Liberal; brother, Steven McAfee of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren, Jasmine Williams and Esmé, Jack and Lucy McAfee; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dolores Gonzalez, Garden City.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Phil McAfee, and a sister, Alfreda Baskette.
o A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church, 1550 North Western Ave., Liberal.
