AMARILLO, Texas – June Elliott, 91, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010.

She was born in 1919 to Thomas H. and Era McKinley in Hooker, Okla.

She graduated from high school in Hooker, and she graduated from business college in Edmond, Okla.

She worked as a bookkeeper for many years both in the auto industry and the oil and gas industry.

She was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, where she served on the board as treasurer. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and a Sunday school teacher.

She was a member of the American Businesswomen’s Association and Beta Sigma Phi. She was a founding member of SHHH – Self  Help for Hard of Hearing. She volunteered with St. Anthony’s Hospice and Olivia’s Angels.

Survivors includ sons, Larry Elliott, Chester, Va., and Jeff Elliott and wife, Amy, Chesterfield, Va.; daughters, Marsha Hughes and husband, Tommy, Amarillo, Texas, and Debbie Beard and husband, Tom, Amarillo; brother, Stanley McKinlye and wife, Gaynor, Hooker; grandchildren, Stephanie Miller and husband, Richard, Caralee Hill, Chris Beard, Max Elliott, Molly Elliott, Saundra Elliott, Kystal Elliott, Brandon Elliott, Justin Elliott, Shayna Bryn Peristein Elliott, Todd Hughes and wife, Carla, Heath Hughes and wife, Donna, Mike Beard, David Beard and Jan Beard; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, B.T. Elliott, daughter, Saundra Anderson, two brothers and two sisters.

o Funeral services were at 1 p.m. today at Covenant Fellowship Church with the Rev. Stephen Gaines and Chaplain Jeff Messer presiding.

Buriall will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hooker Cemetery.
