Saturday will be the biggest day of the Five State Fair festivities, and one of the activities looking for participants is the Not-So-Newlywed Game.

The game has been a fixture with the fair festivities for several years, and coordinator Jennifer Malin said she is excited for this year’s game.

“The couples would have to be my favorite thing about doing this every year,” Malin said. “We get all sorts and all of them have been good sports. Most have been hilarious and they keep the crowd laughing. We are looking for couples of all ages and all lengths of marriage. In the past, we had a couple that had been married for 45 years. We keep the questions clean for our young audience members. It’s a fun game and the top three places pay out cash. If you’ve thought about doing it in the past, but just haven’t, we’d love to have you.”

The game will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday and will be at the stage by the Seward County Activity Center. Malin offered encouragement for couples in the community to turn out and have some fun playing. For couples interested in participating, they can go to www.fivestatefair.com, and under the “Events” tab is the “Competitive Events,” under which the “Not-So Newlywed Game” application will be found. Couples will need to fill that out and submit it. If there are issues with that route, interested couples can also email the information to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. “It’s just a game that people like participating in and it’s good clean entertainment, I always look forward to having a good time and enjoying the entertainment the game provides,” Malin said. “I love doing the game every year, and I hope this year will be just as fun.”
