The Southwestern Heights tennis team came away from Hoisington Varsity Invitational with a second place finish out of eight teams.

Richard Navarette and Ashton Lee took first in the No.1 doubles with a 4-0 record. They defeated teams from Russell, Hutch-Trinity, Scott City, and Hoisington, 8-2, 8-1, 8-1, and 8-1.

Dalton Holmes took second in the No.1 Singles with a 2-2 record. Holmes defeated players from Russell and Scott City, and lost close matches versus Hutch-Trinity and Hoisington.

The No.2 doubles team of Austin Metcalf and Hugo Reveles finished third with a 2-1 record, with wins over Russel and Hoisington.

No.2 singles player, Jordan Scott went 1-3 and finished fourth.

Heights will host their own event Monday at 3 pm in Plains.
